Core Coins in Transgenic Mouse Core

Riya was awarded $4,200 in Core Coins into generating a new mouse model via embryo work to study the role of immune-like glial population within the peripheral nervous system. This award was made possible through a gift from Antony Rosen, Vice Dean for Research.

“The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Core Coins Program is a funding mechanism designed to encourage investigators to access core services and facilities” (JH Medicine, 2019). Core Coins are awarded in a competitive basis to individual PIs with the ultimate goal of providing rapid growth in specific research endeavors.
